Well as someone who lives in Spain no one knows the true origins of tapas but people often say it comes from the fact that in the olden days people would cover their wine or beer with a slice of ham to keep flies out of it. Tapa means like lid or cover in Spanish. Maybe it's true, maybe not. But as a secret plot to exterminate Jews, I don't really think so...

Sadly, most secret plots to destroy the kikes only exist in the minds of kikes.

As long as they believe it, it's true to them!

B-but it was real in my mind!

I worked in a tapas style restaurant for years and that's close to what the owner told me... also something about not drinking without food in the afternoon iirc.

“Tapa” means slap in Portuguese so I always kinda assumed it had something to do with slaps like “little slaps of food”. But your theory sounds more accurate.

off topic, but where in Spain do you live? I've only had the pleasure of visiting Rota but the part I did get to see was beautiful and I'd love to see more of Spain again someday.

The Basque Country, which is probably the most left wing part of all Spain which pains me sometimes, but it's where the heritage is. Politics outside it is a beautiful part of the world.

Not just the Basque Country though, Spain is a really diverse country with a lot to see. If you do come back, go to the North 🙂

I have a friend that lives in Santander, I believe. She's shown me pictures. If I am ever able to visit again, that's where I'd like to go next.
