When I was younger I used to laugh at jokes about "americans" being so dumb that they needed warnings on microwaves not to use them to dry your dog, or that superman capes for kids didn't actually make them fly.
Now I know the real reason.

My favourite was always "do not use in shower" on a hair-dryer, which is as dangerous as it is futile.
My second favourite warning was on my iron telling me not to iron clothes while wearing them.
