I definitely noticed that.
It’s almost like black men are completely separate from black women, in terms of subculture in this country. The two groups do not form stable relationships as a norm; the little boys that are conceived and born are often written off as soon as they reach a certain degree of physical maturity, as they are no longer controllable by the women in their lives (sisters, moms, grandmas). So it’s like they’re almost completely superfluous.
I don’t know if this was intentional (ie, part of the same type of campaigns by cynical assholes who invented gangster rap) or a natural consequence of the feralization of black communities. I don’t know what else to call it.
