There's better stuff out there for experienced crypto people or experienced traders... But you're a n00b with a buncha questions you can't beat Robinhood. It has an option to automatically take money out of your checking account and put it into bitcoin and it's easy enough that boomer national socialists can set up on their own.
If you're young and smart get a gdax account, obviously. I've had nothing but good luck with Binance personally as well. If you're n00b as fuck just get Robinhood and don't worry about this "reddit r/wallstreetbets revolution against Robinhood, Citron and the hedge fund managers" that is all a bullshit distraction pump and dump from the real revolution which is BITCOIN VS FEDERAL RESERVE.
the real hustle is eth. Eth will be going to 3k this year and you can buy it for $1700 now. It's hard enough explaining bitcoin without getting into eth.

Yeah anytime you trade usd for bitcoin they gonna tax you. Most sites will send you a tax form that does all the math for you and you report it on your taxes. Ideally in the future you will work for crypto, buy food in crypto, buy your house and car in crypto.... I think one day maybe even purchase stocks in crypto all without using USD and cutting the tax man out of the equation.
Gotcha. Being a college dude still living with my parents (I help them out around the house and at the farm, not entirely a leech) I've never had to mess with that. Doubt it's hard, just something I haven't had to do myself.
I'm going to look more into this crypto stuff. If nothing else, I might snag some spending money.
I understand your point. My hatred for Robinhood goes back a couple of years. Their fuckery and outright theft is legendary. This latest clusterfuck is just part for the course. I would gladly slit Vlad's throat if given the opportunity.

Ethereum will die if they don't get tx fees under control. Keeps the normies out, which is nice, but after a certain point the market will choke. Eth can be replaced and there are several competitors aiming to do just that. At the very least L2 solutions will make demand for eth crash.
