It comes from an empty people. When you are rewarded and applauded for absolutely everything nothing matters. You never learn a talent or a skill or any real interests. You have nothing to be proud of yourself for.

BUT you are an awesome, amazing person, better than anyone else. That's what your parents constantly told you. That what every teacher beat into your heads rather than teach the subject matter. Self esteem was paramount in your education.

BUT you aren't quite sure why you love yourself so much since you have no talent, education or anything to really be proud of but you know you're better than everyone else so you find ways to make yourself sound better than them, something completely arbitrary like how tolerant you are of freaks and then you can accuse everyone else of evil shit that's clearly not real but if you say it enough- "racistracistracist or sexist! or TRANSPHOBIC!!!" you'll feel better about yourself and come off to everyone as the great person you really think you are.

Don't forget your friends and everyone you surround yourself with parrot the same shit and if they don't pat you on the back and keep up the act tech companies (who are also in on this little game) have made it easy for you to just click and ban/block/delete them from your lives permanently. Then you'll never have to consider opposing views. Your feelings are too important and you're perfect anyway so why listen to anything but what you want to hear?

Then you won't have to work at anything or improve yourself in any way. Problem solved and you can sit on your ass for your entire life. You'll still be better than everyone else.
