Ah that sucks. Yeah it was a Honda, and I haven't bought a Japanese car in more than ten years. My gf has a 07 that drives great. She doesn't like, like cars so the fact that it's basic is less of a bother than it being in the shop would be.
I got a lease return BMW that I guess I overpaid for at a dealer, but the cost of a aftermarket warranty on those things is no joke, and I wanted a warranty at the time. Now, I "have a guy" and I just go without. If the motor blows up , it will suck, but I can absorb that, and at least I'm not out guaranteed money. So far, so great on the F10 BMW 5-series. Knock on wood.
