Exactly. Nobody needs my data except me. I am getting interesting data though. My purchases at some stores are showing up from both a credit card and gift card standpoint - meaning I am getting "how did you like this purchase" when using a credit card, and some "do you need more of this" when also using a gift card. I'm sure the gift card and credit card numbers are stored for years, and I wonder if checkout cameras have long term data retention as well. There is a fuckton of data about us all over - and now it is being consolidated at a faster rate. Google monitors all purchases in their email system, and so many places have "checkout with google/facebook/apple" whatever, to tie your ID to purchases. Fun times
