When both sides were living to a traditional Christian moral standard then marriage made sense as a life-long covenant and sacred relationship. With that out of the way in most post-protestant countries ("the West") it is just a race to the bottom and then eventually realism reasserting itself and things finding a natural order. The big problem is that there are brown cucks all of the way down waiting to catch and impregnate these women. So we cannot have a natural correction without our race being destroyed.
