When you "buy a house" or "buy property" you never literally buy ownership of the land itself, what community would ever let you do that?? The papers you sign when you buy clearly state "title to" the property. This buys you a limited set of privileges and responsibilities associated with that plot of land, and nothing more. The country as a whole claimed ownership of that land a long time ago. Anyone who thinks they're buying their way out of the country's stake of that is dreaming...otherwise other countries would simply come in and "buy up" every plot of land for pennies on the dollar.
