The exact reason I have now remodeled my entire house and didn't pull one fucking permit. Fuck the government, in all forms, all the way down to the local building department.
This plan is only genius if you don't get caught, and build up to code anyway.
My aunt extended the back of her house, but some dickshit reported her, and now she's in court for building something without government permission. But why the fuck is she in court? The guys she trusted to do the build should be in court. These fucks, using illegal immigrants, are the ones that didn't fill out the proper paperwork. And who the fuck reports their neighbors for construction? Fucking cunts.
Why the fck is she using someone that employs illegals??. If that builder is willing to cut corners on not paying wages for permanent staff and who he employs , what other corners is he willing to cut ?? ...

Problem that arises is if and when you go to sell. You'll usually loose money on the sell if the required permits weren't authorized. Now its on the potential buyer to fund these additional permits to get the house into code. Its a total bullshit money making jew scheckle scam.
Yea, I've seen this issue with folks who finish their basement without permits. But as far as an old, fully finished house goes, it's easier to get away with.
Yeah the building department has almost no idea about places. Their notes are shit.
