I work on house repair servicing about 28 years. During this time I meet hundreds of families, they differ in education, material - social status, etc. But they have one thing in common. Real boss of the house is woman, wife or girlfriend, no matter. I’ve met tough, confident men, who think they’re the boss of the house... but if a woman wants the walls in the living room to be orange instead of green, in the end somehow it always turns out that the woman's word is the last. btw. I agree with your last sentence. Only couple times meet such family, where man threat woman as "slave", and always this was some weird dude or criminal... or both.
My 2 cents:
- Men are good at working.
- Men are good at moving mountains for their partner.
- Men are not so good at making things pretty of their own accord, that requires a bit of direction from women.
By this I mean that women are good at making the house look good but men are good at making the changes required to make it look good. Like women have the eye for detail in beauty but men should have the craftsmanship to create it. A good partnership is the communication from articulating how to make things pretty to making them to the specification.
This is just another myth without roots in reality. Let see facts. Woman often do not work, or work easiest job without too much stress. Woman have less obligation to bring bread to the table. So in short they have time and opportunity to think about so "important" stuff like home decoration. Add to this his desire to control everything in family life. Men are much more practical, but if they have time and will they are at least good as woman in making stuff pretty. Do not forget, male are creatives, woman just are pussy carrier.
No, I will perfectly accept that "decoration" is purely superficial and superfluous.
But also decoration and art is a bit more of a feminine trait.
