I believe that according to the Old Testament the Jews used taxes and loans to turn the Egyptians into slaves till the Egyptians revolted.
I find it amusing since the Old Testament/Tanakh basically says the Israelis were degenerate scumbags so God punished them by making them wander around in the desert like dumbasses, but also gave them a set of commandments to live by. Of course they would go on to break this, particularly the tribe of Judah.
The Torah itself is actually pretty solid, in bans usury, incest, child sacrifice, etc. The problem stems from the oral tradition, which by the way, the Torah never mentions. The TLDR of the oral tradition (highly likely an invention of the sages) is, that the sages could add commandments should they not of been covered, and interpret commandments if there is any sort of misunderstanding or dispute. For example, washing your hands before eating was a commandment added via oral tradition, though later down the line we would get darker ones like the goyim being cattle. Originally the position of the sages was exclusive to the tribe of Levi, but after the destruction of Israel by the Assyrians, it fell in to the hands of the Jews, who were one of the two tribes who remained since they rebelled against Israel and formed their own nation, one not at war with Assyria. I speculate once the Jews got command of the sages position is when they rewrote the whole thing to greatly favor themselves as the tribe of Judah was always the douchebag tribe. There is also the theory the "Jews of Judah" were the Babylonian exiles and stuff like that. I'm not sure, it's an interesting topic though.
I'm by no means praising the Israelis, but I think it's important to differentiate Hebrews, Israelis, and Jews, because Jews intentionally mix them up to trick people. The Hebrews were what they were before they split in to different tribes. The Israelis were ethnicity that made up the tribes, they are almost completely extinct now. And the Jews were members of the tribe of Judah, citizens of the nation of Judah/Judea (for example many biblical figured ascribed as Jews, were not Jews in regards of blood lineage, but rather because they were merely a citizen of Judah), or practitioners of the ideology of Judaism (such as the Khazar's, who don't even have Semitic DNA, and why Yiddish is Germanic, and not Semitic like Hebrew). It's a confusing mess because it's supposed to be, it's so Jews can shapeshift. The Khazars are their own story, but to make it short, they became the muscle of Judaism. Judaism in ideology only (not that that makes them any better), and later slain by the Nords and Slavs who got sick of their shit.
It really is an interesting topic not many like to look in to since it's just easier to say "fuck Jews" and leave it at that. But I prefer knowing the history behind why someone became as awful as they are.
