Not sure if everyone will like this (figure many won't).
I was at the store where they buy and sell games. It was around 2006 or 2008 time frame. Someone was trying to sell a game called "Big Chungus" and it was a game about losing weight or something like that or a mini-game about losing weight. I was also checking out myself and finished with what I was buying myself. I walked out of the store and I had to of been 16 or 17 or around there myself if not 18.
I asked this guy selling the game "Big Chungus" what he was looking for the game. The guy said he wanted $15 for the game or at least $10. He seemed pretty normal to as well. He was a 19 if not 20 or so white guy (suburbs - figured I wasn't going to get robbed or anything like that) and most likely a college guy to as well. He was a couple years older than me or whatever so I didn't figure much was off.
I told him I could do $10 cash right now. He thought about it for a second and agreed to it. I handed him the $10 and I got "Big Chungus" the video game in return.
I went home and opened the big chungus game and tried running it. The game didn't work and I was pretty sure it was a blank cd with a great looking detail on the top of the CD (as well as the box to as well).
I got embarrassed really fast and kind of felt a deep pit in my stomach, but it was only $10 for the game. I thought it would be some stupid little mini game type game or something like that. I had never seen the game before and the box and the game in the box looked really well done that I couldn't even tell it was fake myself.
I decided not to get upset or sad about this happening. I decided I was just going to tell everybody I bought it for $10 then turned around and sold it for something like $92,000 on some website that allows you to sell used games.
It was one of those young and really dumb or stupid mistakes to buy a game like that when the store wouldn't even buy the game. Even though this happened in 2006 or 2008 time frame and it's now 2020 or over 10 years later I do kind of get embarrassed about this, but now it's a funny story though.
They caught the guy a few months back selling knocked off games that were knocked off of games he made up (if this makes sense). Someone is going to send me a pic of his mugshot later on. Said he was going to comm link me in with an open channel he created with milspec ed209 after the checklist is completed.
updated - they caught big chungus.
