Steve Jobs thought eating fruit cured cancer. Ironically I used to be crazy into mortality stats on every single subject. Eating fruit lowers your general mortality but raises your mortality rate in relation to cancer. Like very slight, but still the very opposite of the intention. It's those esters man.
I could see how one might think because of anti-oxidants it might help, but anti-oxidents aren't really a thing. It's been 10 years since that fad started and we have nothing. The fad died down without a whimper, and the bad side of that is we never got to reflect on the fact that we were lied to and actual medical practitioners started following a fad with no evidence. People actually died because of it. Like Steve Jobs for one.
