CRTs are no joke man.
Bitch, I'm a CRT vet.
I remember two TV repair shops that would trebuchet old CRTs at each other's shops. These were solid brick and concrete buildings so it would just make a huge boom and racket. It was all fun and games until one side launched a console TV with 8 track tape, radio and stereo speakers in it, it knocked a hole in the wall and destroyed a life sized ceramic statue of Elvis Presley that stood pointing at you when you walked in.
I miss my CRT gaming monitor. Them color contrasts were no joke, mang. I hate how liquid crystal technology is always just glowing at you. Blacks are still an incandescent grey.
I held onto that CRT forever, until a particularly humid summer caused an arc inside, and fried it. When I cracked it open, there was a quarter sized hole in the main board.
