He also kept money to party with his friends instead of giving it to the poor. I'm not knocking him on that account. I understand why and he was correct. But the idea that he was a socialist has almost no evidence.

And an anarcho capitalist would do the same. Just because a guy does something virtuous and you think your ideology has a monopoly on virtue doesn't make him someone who believes or taught everything you believe.
He also often uses allegories that illustrate capital in use (proof that capitalism isn't something that was invented last century) and he never talks about it as an evil, or people who own capital as being evil. He could have been an an-cap, but I'm not going to be like a socialist and say things I don't know.
