Answer: No. For those of you who thought DDG respected your privacy, well you're in for a surprise: DuckDuckGo has trackers.

On these two filter lists, EasyList and EasyPrivacy, I've noticed that there were some DDG tracking domains in these lists.

Although DuckDuckGo is nowhere near as bad as Google Search when it comes to privacy, but for the DDG team to claim that DDG respects your privacy is just a flat out lie. Well, at least DDG can still be used normally even when those trackers are blocked.

If you use uBlock Origin (github.com), then you don't have to worry about being tracked since it has the EasyList and EasyPrivacy filter lists enabled by default.

For people who already knew about the shady past of DuckDuckGo (archive.is), the shady history (archive.is) of its founder (archive.is), the fairly recent discovery (stoutner.com) by the owner of Privacy Browser, and DDG deciding to use Apple Maps for mapping (ghacks.net), this is not at all surprising.

So what search engine then?

I'd say searx.me, although it's a meta-search engine.
