La Nouvelle Librairie remercie tous ses clients, ses amis, ses fidèles soutiens, ses passants d’un jour, ses visiteurs de tous les jours – qui l’ont portée- soutenue, plébiscitée tout au long de l’année écoulée. Se réimplanter au Quartier latin, peser dans le combat culturel, être un coproducteur d´idées, faire bon accueil au vent rafraîchissant que les nouvelles générations apportent, les réaffillier dans une chaîne du savoir et de la transmission- voila le pari qui était le nôtre il y a un an. Il a été tenu, je crois. Mieux : la Nouvelle Librairie renoue dès la rentrée avec une tradition chère aux métiers du livre, pourtant laissée en jachère, quand les librairies étaient aussi des éditeurs. Elle se dote ainsi d’une structure éditoriale : les bien nommées Éditions de la Nouvelle Librairie. La Nouvelle Librairie thanks all its customers, its friends, its faithful supporters, its passers-by for a day, its everyday visitors - who have brought it - supported, acclaimed throughout the past year. To relocate to the Latin Quarter, to weigh in the cultural fight, to be a co-producer of ideas, to welcome the refreshing wind that the new generations bring, to reassign them in a chain of knowledge and transmission - that is the bet that was ours one year ago. It was held, I believe. Better: the New Bookstore is back in the fall with a tradition dear to book trades, yet left fallow, when the bookstores were also publishers.
