>The French electorate is flocking to right-wing parties in the wake of the recent mass riots which enveloped the nation last week. A new Ifop poll for Sud Radio showed right-wing parties enjoying a 6 percent swing in support from voters across the country when asked for their voting intentions ahead of next year’s European parliamentary elections. The National Rally, formerly led by ex-presidential candidate Marine Le Pen and now by Jordan Bardella, topped the poll with more than a quarter (26 percent) of the vote share, up one percentage point. The liberal-conservative Republicans saw their popularity rise into double figures, up three percentage points to 11 percent, while Éric Zemmour’s Reconquête party and Debout la France (DLF) gained one percentage point each to total 7 percent and 4 percent respectively.

Yeah... Well it's better than nothing, but that's still lame

"The liberal-conservative Republicans" that's mainstream right, like republicans in the US... +3% for them doesn't really count as a win for "us"... So 26+7+4 = 37%...

With what happened imagine what it's going to take to go beyond a mere 50%

Bet they are starting to understand all the crime in the US.

You're starting with the premise that the vast majority can read english with ease and follows US news since decades, to be able to form an opinion outside the reuters echo chamber

That's the thing anglos, especially in the US, overlook. There are several languages in europe, and most europeans only speak their own, and most of the time they aren't even closely related. A french can eventually decipher spanish, portuguese or italian, due to latin roots and that's about it, forget about finnish or german

They are constantly told America is extremely dangerous and scary. Now they have first hand understanding of the backing for the news reports they read in their own language.

Europeans are frequently shocked to learn the US is one of the safest places on the planet so long as they stay in white majority areas. They are shocked because they are spoon fed propaganda telling them how dangerous the US is because of guns everywhere.

US news are very casual in france, you got george floyd and orange man bad but beyond that, not much...

That being said I've noticed that marion marechal (le pen) was talking about the castle doctrine lately, on tv, following the "events" as I heard old normies call it IRL... https://youtu.be/FWiNQ9yEq0M?t=732 "la doctrine du chateau", castle doctrine, literally

And that's not neutral, this is a legal concept, a terminology, typical of the US, so I see where she's coming from... But she doesn't represent the entirety of france, let's not celebrate too fast here...

She also talks about civil war https://youtu.be/FWiNQ9yEq0M?t=496 and the direct link with immigration, the obvious ethnic issue underlying the entire problem... https://youtu.be/FWiNQ9yEq0M?t=429 So... Yeah we're getting there... Slowly... Now I think "the problem" is going to grow and go out of hand faster than the push back is building up... Maybe I'm wrong and I surely hope I am...

That's starting with the premise that the vast majority gives two shits about what's going in the US regarding crime

How many times do you wake up in the morning thinking about crime, in let's say, europe

Unless somebody post something making you think about it, you don't think much about it, if at all. Your immediate concern is crime in the US, in your state, your area, to be more accurate, because it's not the thugs half way across the globe that you worry about the most. Well same deal for most europeans

two shits about what's going in the US regarding crime

Considering I've heard Europeans say this more than I can count, yes, absolutely they do. They do because their lying media has constantly placed the lies into their head.

The only person making assumptions here is you.

Considering I've heard Europeans say

You've read them, not heard... That's not "Europeans", that's just an online fringe, and if it was very right wing europeans, chances are it was the fringe of the fringe in an echo chamber...

I'm not an utopian, I'm a realist, and I actually live in western europe
