It's not surprising that left and right work towards the same goal, with the exception of (father) Lepen, but I was more curious about the way leadership of 50, 100, 150 years ago is seen today, because France was possibly the European country that pioneered this phenomenon of bringing foreign populations on European soil, perhaps as troops or workers or even citizens, especially with the Algerian experiment.

Camp of Saints doesn't appear to be available in an English edition anymore, but I know there is some strong interest outside of France in Robert Brasillach and the events of 1934.

Well, zemmour and lepen voters aside, all the rest consider phillipe pétain as a traitor pretty much, nazi collaborator etc, while in reality he prevented the population from being bombed to shit and made a deal with hitler which saved french jews; you can grab all the foreign jews you want, but you leave the french jews alone. Of course when allies started to invade the southern part of france the deal went sideways, but that's another story

Also, anything left of the center thinks socialists are little humanitarian angels who created most social programs and the leading resistance during wwII, which historically, is completely false

Those are tv induced falsehoods

While today france is objectively right wing, the average french is under influence, he doesnt' think straight, his train of thoughts still runs on a lot of falsehoods, to the point that I'm "barely compatible" with anyone over there I engage in historical and political discussions...

"Oh the usa they have a gun problem!"... Yeah... Alright... I guess one day they'll figure out what's the real problem when it'll start shooting at them...
