SECURITY FOR OUR LAWFORCE AND OUR CITIZENS - THERE IS NO FREEDOMS WITHOUT SECURITY

Author (s): GUARANTEE THE SECURITY OF CITIZENS AND SANCTUARIZE THE PROTECTION OF OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS By this author Recipient (s): Jean Castex (Prime Minister) Emmanuel Macron (President of the Republic) Senate The petition News) Mr. President of the Republic,

Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the Government,

Ladies and Gentlemen Parliamentarians

Aware of your constitutional prerogatives and your obligations, we solemnly ask you to do everything possible to put an end to the extremely serious situation that France is going through in matters of security and public tranquility.

Today the authority of the state is undermined by violent minorities. The laws are no longer applied in the lost territories of the Republic.

However, the police and gendarmes are the peacekeepers and protectors of our institutions. They are the keystone of all our freedoms. Without security, there are no freedoms.

The multiplication of attacks and violent attacks directed against our guardians of the public peace demonstrate a rejection of our republican values, our customs and our model of society in entire sections of our nation. The savage murder in Avignon of one of our police officers who guard the peace is the tragic illustration of this.

Open-force attacks on police stations by hordes of armed and hooded individuals spread across our territory with impunity, violence against individuals spread even into the privacy of family residences and the only response to these crimes against law enforcement resides in compassionate incantations which have no effect on the daily life of the French.

As one Minister of the Interior pointed out when he left his post, the country has fragmented into enclaves where we once lived side by side and where we now live face to face. A face to face which nourishes communitarianism and threatens civil peace.

Like the two loosely murdered public servants recently, we have helped relentlessly fight crime and restore law and order for decades.

The Minister of the Interior declared in Avignon that the police had to wage a merciless "war" against drug and arms traffickers, and that the police were "soldiers".

Certainly, but unarmed soldiers are mere targets. That is why it is necessary to rearm them materially, morally and legally to enable them to carry out their missions without risking their lives on every street corner.

The police are now up against the hostility of a part of the population and some misguided politicians, they must constantly justify themselves in front of their hierarchy, the magistrates, the prefects and bow before the court of opinion public.

It is time to take effective action to reclaim our own country and restore state authority wherever it fails.

It is time to ensure that France's values are respected and no longer accept the unacceptable.

It is time to react.

The police and gendarmes have already paid a heavy price in human lives and irremediable injuries: fear must change sides.

The families of police officers and gendarmes must be protected and police officers must regain their pride in exercising the noblest profession there is: that of protecting and defending citizens.

The penal response must be adapted in such a way that the sentences are actually carried out and up to the crimes committed.

The emergency also requires controlling illegal immigration which plagues many neighborhoods and contributes to fuel disorder and delinquency.

Anarchy is everywhere when the responsibility is nowhere.

France must not fall into chaos. The French police cannot tolerate the armed forces replacing them tomorrow to avoid a civil war.

We hope that our call for a national leap will be heard by the public authorities and we join our voices to those of our military comrades who spoke first.

The challenges ahead are crucial. We are determined to help our working colleagues cope and recover their lost consideration.
