Violence spread over three main targets.

Radical left-wing violence targets both material assets and people.

In the case of material goods, these are places embodying what these activists call « the capitalist order » or even « ultra-liberal ». These are usually banks or businesses like McDonald’s. Attacks on institutional buildings are less common. The one committed on January 5, 2019 as part of the French movement of « yellow vests » on the ministry of the government spokesperson is an exception. The people targeted belong to two distinct groups in their nature, but similar in their political and social function according to the radical left: the police and right-wing activists. The police are considered to be the armed wing of a political power exerting social violence which justifies the use of de facto, legitimate violence. The right-wing activist, hated when he belongs to the national right, despised in the case of the liberal right, represents the critical stage of the capitalist order in crisis, namely « fascism », a generic and mutant term able to cover any object of the field of the criticism of the radical left.
