I was looking up prices for a dozen Great Value eggs around the country and California and Colorado didn’t list regular eggs as an item that is stocked. Prices are fucking crazy. Not just theirs, but everywhere for any eggs.

(This is not meant to be a discussion about getting your own chickens. We know. We know.)

Yes, but the tragic part is the people who buy them are not cage free. Their cage is called "big city life" and they voluntarily choose to be in it.

Welcome to 2025: When McDonalds is literally more expensive than Applebee's, and a dozen regular eggs costs more than a cup of starbucks

Colorado just passed a law that started on the 1st that everything needs to be cage free.

Then they said the bird flu is why eggs cost so much.

Also, multiple "egg farms" have just killed somewhere around 1 MILLION chickens because of flu scares.

Curious fact: Go anywhere but the U.S. and eggs are twice the size they are here. A couple of decades ago eggs in the U.S. were twice the size they are now. What happened?

What? The eggs from our chickens are no where close to twice the size as the ones from the store. If anything store bought eggs are bigger.

Just what I’ve seen overseas. Maybe your chickens need more scratch lol.
