If you can, only buy local and from places you know actually have their own hives. A HUGE amount of "honey" you find in stores is either faked or from China or other banned countries. If they filter it and remove the pollen you can't actually verify the region and if it is considered safe.
Oh, and a lot of that stuff in the store is actually just syrup with a bunch of other garbage in it, not real honey/pure.
