That is sort of the point. Massive factory farming is fucking up the nutrient value as crop rotation and sustainable farming techniques that have been around for hundreds if not thousands of years are being ignored and rather a shit load of fertilizer is being used that allows the plant to grow but the soil is starved of the nutrients that make the plants worth eating. You can actually eat it and feel full but you are not eating "healthy" food.
There was a article I read a long time ago about a (I think Irish, maybe New Zeeland) incident where they were trying to raise sheep. The ground looked great, green grass as far as you could see but out of nowhere all of the animals dropped dead.
Though a lot of work they were able to figure out that the soil was missing critical nutrients and because of this it didn't really matter how much the sheep grazed they were basically starving.
Ill try to find the article but they make it pretty hard to find stuff like this now that they say everything is because of "climate change". Not improper farming/ranching/etc.
