I saw Kroger's selling 4 individual potatoes for $4. Used to be you could get a 20 lb bag for that much. Good luck even finding a 20 lb bag anymore. Even the ones in a 10 lb bag are small and not great quality. Are fast food places buying up all the good, cheap potatoes or what?

We are lucky enough to have a (small) local dairy farm that produces milk/butter and a few other products that are far better and cheaper than what you get in the store. If you live in a area with one.. it would be worth finding out if they will direct-sell (some states have laws against it but there are always loopholes).
