We had this lentil soup (more like a stew) for dinner (with turkey sandwiches) and it was pretty good. The changes I made were to add 1/2 t fresh ginger with the onions, 8oz of mushrooms instead of however much the recipe called for, 1/2 t MSG, and instead of pasta I tossed in a 10oz bag of cauliflower rice.

It is from Twelve Months of Monastery Soup by Brother Victor-Antoine d'Avila-Latourrette.

I'm going to keep trying a few more out of this book. Might be fun to try them all, but I don't know if I'm that dedicated to soup.

Lentil soup is pretty good, but my favorite use of lentils is mujaddara. It's how I found out the magic combination of cumin and cinnamon.

They are not large ;) but yeah he's an eater. I take notes on anything I make in a physical cookbook so that I know if it was liked or not. One of these days, I'll figure out a good method for all my electronic cookbooks. I haven't found an electronic recipe keeper I like yet. I even have notecards that get stickynotes.

You with your electronic cookbooks are like me with all the notebooks, spreadsheets and apps I use to track grocery prices.
