Yea, I avoid most of that problem by not purchasing processed food. I still read labels on everything. But that won't guarantee they can't slip bad shit in because they want to murder all of us, so they don't require some really bad shit to be labeled.

They avoid labeling chemicals by introducing the chemicals in the food chain further up like hormones, vaccines, pesticides and so on.
