McDonald's does this every few years. They gut all their corporate consultants and replace them with the next generation of "yes men" that they train in house. Seen it plenty of times, folks get shuffled around to new roles, others are just cannon fodder and will go find a job consulting for the competition. Plenty of people who have been doing the job at that level for 10 years + have gone through this at least 3x by this point. If they survived the last couple, they know there is a good chance they won't survive this one. Every few years they get the same thing, stay home, we'll let you know. A week later every franchisee is finding out their consultants have been replaced, relationships destroyed and they get to start all over with a new one for another 2 years. Then McDonald's goes to all it's franchisees and mandates that they treat their employees oh so well. They tell them about how much more they need to do for their people. Yet the corporate office can send their own people an email telling them not to report while they pull the rug out from them and their families. To be fair though, McDonald's is far from the center or right in their executive and corporate leadership. Even the bullshit spat with Chigango Lightfoot reeks of bullshit. McDonald's pushes for the same ideological bullshit as most woke corporations and the government does. Lots of family folks gonna be impacted by all this which is sad in a sense. However, anyone thats been at that level in McDonald's knows, "No one is your friend in McDonald's". No matter how they try and paint the picture differently. You will be hard pressed to find a more two faced set of individuals than those running around McDonald's corporations executive positions.
