I made zucchini marmalade one year.
Would recommend?
Visualize this, squirrel marmalade made just using a blender, now that's homemade. :) Breakfast toast just like grandma used to have.

Nice. I wish I had a good solution for the vine borer; already lost one of my zucchini plants.
Luckily not a problem 'round these parts. Good luck with the rest of your plants.
Maybe a fine net can help?
around here people put a small piece of board under them so all insects under the ground can't directly dig up into the melon, cucumber, etc. It also prevents them from rotting if the soil is to wet some years since the water runs off the wood then dries so there is a dry area to sit and grow.
I like the net idea though for birds and rodents "fucking squirrels and chipmunks".
