Did you know all European countries have stew? Different countries have different names, but it's the same dish. It's about meat, potatoes and veggies. If you have to survive winter, this is the dish you need. I'm amazed by the simplicity of this dish and in the same time the succulent taste. Personally I enjoy stew more with sweet pickles as garnish. What about you? Do you consider stew as European main dish?

I will assume that you mean beef.

tbh, I only consider a thick broth gravy with seared beef cubes as stew. (I don't care what veggies are added) I don't care much for stews with other meats (although there are some good soups that use meats like pork, chicken, shrimp, hamburger, bison, elk, moose, venison, etc.
