The original company baked fresh donuts nightly in each store. Probably the secret of their success. Then they added cakes and pies, and custom orders for birthdays etc.

Eventually Wendy's bought the corp to legally evade American corporate taxes. It sold for billions. Since then all of the food is produced in centralized facilities and delivered frozen to the stores. It's just not the same.

My town has one Tim Horton's for every 5000 people:)
