Cryptic errors no one can interpret without a service call from the company that makes the machines, and mcdonalds itself mandates the use of these machines. 99% of those errors end up being a result of an overfilled unit that cannot properly sterilize itself.

Why would McDonald's do this? Because it costs them nothing. They own the land and the building, they mandate how the business is run, but they do not pay the bills. They stuff the pockets of their partner company on the franchise's dime.
