thanks... I will have to in the future compare the stateline vs a few miles inland into Lower Alabama, to determine which side of stateline is twangiest. But you really have to visit that stateline section to be amazed at how twangy and bouncy the accent is. Its amazingly twangy. Ypu are correct though that a full 30 minutes drive north of the coast ends you up in Alabama... so maybe I was in Alabama when I heard that astoundingly twangy voice. I assume the people I heard south of alabama border (on the border) might have grown up in alabama perhaps, but maybe they were locals.
