No hormones; they have to wait for the antibiotics to clear out of their system before slaughter, and only if they've been sick. ABF free meat (in general) is more cruel, if anything, because instead of giving the animals medicine, they just let them suffer for no other reason than to appease some random soccer moms. I mean, shit happens and things go wrong... but that's standard procedure.
