Sorry to pop your bubble but fructose in any form other than the unprocessed fruit is bad for you. It is not the same metabolically as glucose and should be avoided for several reasons. If you are curious about the science behind this claim check out The Bitter Truth by Dr. Robert Lustig on youtube.
I mean natural fructose from fruits. Not fructose from processed corn.
Fructose is fructose regardless of where it comes from. HFCS (usually made from corn) is terrible stuff agreed, but the fructose in it is identical to fructose in fruit. The body metabolizes fructose differently than glucose, and this has several negative consequences. However, when coupled with fiber ie. in the unprocessed fruit the negative effects are negated.
Is a tablespoon of jam on your toast once a day going to kill you? Obviously not. My point is only that fructose is not the same as glucose metabolically speaking and that there are consequences for making this incorrect assumption.
There's a fascinating video called Sugar The Bitter Truth by Dr. Robert Lustig on Youtube if you want to learn the science behind why fructose is not the same as glucose.
I love when people use the religion of science to tell you that something made in the lab is the same as the thing that naturally occurred from nature.
Science is so infantile that it can't identify the majority of things present in food, but you want to argue using some guy who wrote a book based off science that surely isn't corrupt at all. How can you really believe that a lab modified chemical is the same as natural grown fruit?
I don't know if it's fructose or glucose. I only know jam with only fruit sugar tastes better, more natural than those with added sugar.
