God, people are fucking stupid. "Look, there's a wild animal. I'm gonna' feed it." Doesn't matter what it is, bird, cat, squirrel, coon. They have an irresistible urge to feed it.

Why?

"Oh no, now there are a bunch of them and they are all sick and hungry, what do I do?!"
