It clearly does. When you remove someone from physical contact with others they fail to develop other soft-skills. I won't get into details but seeing this first hand can be devastating. Also, there are studies showing that parents using "tablets and phones" with their kids as entertainment rather than physical toys like blocks has stunted their physical growth to the point that they don't have the muscle development to hold a pen/pensile when they enter the "school" age.
