I moved to Homestead FL from Michigan. Got tired of snow and sub zero temps. In the winter I was in jeans and tshirts everyday while people had heavy coats and beanies on. It was only 50 in the early morning. Mid 70s by lunch... summer sucked, but winter was awesome.

How long have you been there? Do you like it there, regret any part, have any advice? I have been thinking about doing that. I visited last year and cant stop thinking about the place. Bobs fruit stand is amazing!

I moved to VA in 2018. Only advice is avoid Miami/South Beach. I dont regret moving or living there. Summers were brutal. But November to April is perfect. Hurricanes suck, but at least you can see it coming and get ready for it. Homestead is getting more and more built up as people move and work in/around Miami. Its become the southern suburbs... If I would go back, Id look for a house out in the Redlands agricultural area or Key Largo maybe. We started homeschooling when we moved cuz the schools are shit.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. Maybe I better visit in june/july to see how I handle the heat. Seems like there are alot of palm tree farm/plantations in that specific area. Good for you on the homeschooling, its not an easy step but one that shows your love for your kids. Tell Robert I miss him and please buy a handful of lettuce for your kid/s to feed the turtles....the stupid birds shovel it up before the turtles can get to it so you have to bait them away with a little first.

Honestly though acclimation is definitely a thing. No matter who or where you are dramatic changes in either direction can be difficult.
