The roads are great, people are very friendly, hardly any niggers (US98-30A), plenty of work, affordable food. Almost no one wears a face diaper, and all the stores are open!

I hated the east coast and South Florida when I briefly lived there 13 years ago, but this is a whole different ball game.

Now, if I could just find an affordable car that has less than 200k miles on it...SHEEEEEEEEEEEEE-IT! WTF? Same with motorcycles.

The panhandle is South Alabama. Nice place.

I've been looking for a used work truck. Fucking ridiculous prices.

Obama's "Cash For Clunkers" bullshit really fucked the workin' man in the ass. I will never buy a vehicle I can't throw a wrench on

[–] 2 pts

It's just insane! I am looking to spend 8k on a van/SUV, but they all have 200k+ miles! WTF?

--0bama fucked us in so many ways, but muh Cohen 19 is also to blame. Many people stopped using public transport/carpooling, and bought a used car. New car production either stopped or slowed way down for several months too.

Check auction sites. I've gotten good cars at auctions but it is buyer beware. I don't know if FL auctions to the public but if you can find one you might score a good deal.

They do I've picked up siezed drug running cars from police auctions in the past.

Ah, buying a cat in a sack is too risky, dude...I gotta check it out up close before I part with my hard-won shekels.

Panhandle is one of the last places in Florida that is not on the verge of being completely built out.

Nice and rural.

[–] 1 pt

Rural as hell where I'm at, gotta drive long stretches, but the roads are great and there are basically no cops! Everyone drives 80 mph all the time, I love it! Haven't seen one cop with a radar gun, in Hawaii they are EVERYWHERE.

Can I get enough land to homestead and shoot on there or would that cost way too much? 20-50 acres

[–] 0 pt

You can, but it is pricey right now, everything is. The real estate market is retarded.

Probably looking at ~$10k an acre for raw land.

Glad you made your move safely. I will be looking forward to your upcoming "Florida Man" entry; godspeed!

Thanks! The move from Hawaii was extremely stressful, and I lost a lot of money selling my treasured music gear, but I ended up shipping a lot of it too, which almost broke my ass. Found a great house in the middle of nowhere, and it's kwite komfy. Now I need a big tiddie ReichFrau..

Craigsslist motorcycles man. if you dont mind rice you can get a decent bike for 3-4k

[–] [deleted] 4 pts

The only upside to used bikes is a lot of fools bought toys they were never going to use or couldn't handle and sellers are desperate to make some cash

[–] 0 pt

the minute you ride it off the lot you lose $1000

And then when they lay it down because they bought an 1150 when they should have been on a 250 the price goes down even more

[–] 0 pt

I'm on CL every day, man...just looking for a old dirt/street bike, 250cc or so, nuthin fancy. Something I can rat out. NOTHING!

[–] [deleted] 1 pt (edited )

The weird thing about 250 beginner street bikes and 250 dual sport dirtbikes is how amazingly they retain their value. Bump yourself up to the 400-650 twin class and you'll suddenly find way better deals. Stay away from the inline fours if you don't know what you're doing.

If you just want to put around town or slow country roads on a stupid fun little bike, for a great price, go ahead and buy a new Grom.

[–] 0 pt

I will do the 250 thing for a few months, then upgrade to a 400-500. I really need a work van first..

[–] 2 pts

Spring is a good time to sell bikes not buy. I always bought in the winter if I could, got some amazing deals.

[–] 0 pt

I gotta git muh license first anyway...I really need an Astro van or similar.

We do our anniversary trip every year to PCB. Great place, great people.

(And lots of good seafood)

[–] 1 pt

I love this whole area! Nicest people I ever met, great food. Lots of White people, but I will never go to Walmart after dark again (hint: not so many White people).

Blayck peeples be wayckinup at 12pm inna moenin fo deys reparayshuns!!

The Panhandle is known as The Redneck Riviera. Best be4ach sand anywhere.

I am not a beachgoer anymore, but it brings tourists, which is good for my business (home repair and remodeling). Plus, lots of bikini tiddies on 30A..

[–] 1 pt

Getchurself a Suzuki DR-Z 400! or a DR 650!

and

an old ford ranger

[–] 0 pt

I haven't ridden in years, so gonna start with a 250 til I get back in the schwing of things.

An Astro van would be great, I used to have one. But these local prices are INSANE.

I'm a bike mechanic at a dealership. What do you want to do with whatever bike you get?

[–] 0 pt

Strip it, paint it black, a la rat-rod style. Gnarly, no-frills, anti-gay https://i.ytimg.com/vi/0Pde5p8dXII/maxresdefault.jpg

Basically hoping to find a bike that has been rotting in a barn, so I can take it apart and rebuild it day by day until it's ugly enough to suit me..also gotta be loud, and dirt-road capable. Any leads greatly appreciated, fren!

Wait 'til you go to Daphmont near Daphne and Montrose. Also, avoid the three corners in Foley, AL. Niggers have occupied Arronville, Bueler Heights, and one other spot to the northwest of Foley on the way to Magnolia Springs, AL. Fairhope is Nirvana. Good luck at finding a decent car. Stay the fuck away from Mobile and especially fucking Prichard...

[–] 0 pt

I will study and memorize your invaluable advice with an intensity that would make an Eton scholar look like a beauty school dropout, fren. Avoiding the groid is my main goal in life.

[–] 0 pt

I highly recommend going to Fairhope. It's over 90% white, property value is through the roof, restaurants are top notch, and it's got just about anything you could ever ask for. I honestly wish I could afford a home over there just for the convenience and joy of going downtown on foot.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks fren, but the Destin to PCB stretch is very comfy so far, during the day I rarely see naggers

[–] 1 pt

The east coast is full of New Yorkers and Massholes. Except for daytona, cocoa.. Basically the space coast....the east coast absolutely SUCKS. The Lauderdale and Miami area is a giant third world shit hole with a bunch of New Yorkers and Massholes sprinkled in. Can’t think of a better place for every damned big hurricane to demolish.

Panhandle gets more hurricanes than anywhere else in the state. And it is hotter up there than here in the Tampa Bay Area. You get nice cold winter air (sub 30) and summer is hot as hell with no trade winds like farther south. Did I mention you get hurricane after hurricane after tropical storm...
Have fun.

That being said, there is some beautiful places up there for sure, and it definitely is less built up than around here (for now- the Illinois and Minnesota refugees are inbound)...

[–] 0 pt

I love storms, and as a contractor they are good for my business..

The Destin to PCB stretch is very clean and friendly, I really love it here. Lots of driving to get shit done, but it's worth it. I already feel like a local. Now, where all the NeoFash babes at?

[–] 1 pt

Lol. I’m in the marine repair business.. I love the storms as well!

[–] 0 pt

How's the humidity? Does everyone drive a truck because the roads are generally bad?

[–] 0 pt

The roads here are like in Germany, no joke. No potholes, no litter, no abandoned cars, just fantastic. And it's not humid at all, but it will be in summer, somewhat. I don't care.

[–] 1 pt

Sounds like a nice area. I visited a more central area and it was not to cold, plenty green, but needed some road work and there was a lot of new home construction
