Help me understand how paying for a bunch of crap for a woman is chauvinism.
He didn't pay for a bunch of stuff. He paid for a meal and drinks. This was a date not a random meeting for lunch. There is no argument/discussion about who pays. Her money has no value to him. Feminists call it "male chauvinism."
I have a low opinion of women and to show them, I pay for their meals and drinks.
Obviously not one you would be taking on a date...

I don't get your point at all. Chauvinist doesn't make any sense in this context to me.
