personally I believe in God. I don't think to talk about Him I need to prove anything to anyone I just expect that they will except that I personally believe in Him. However using God to justify doing something that is wrong or immoral is a bad argument because God does forgive but not if you haven't truly repented and if you are doing something because you know you will be forgiven anyway, well I highly doubt you are truly repenting.
I do agree with you though in the fact that if a Christian is debating with an atheist using God as a reason for our actions will not hold much water with them. What I posted however was something geared to manipulate Christians into supporting and funding abortions.
