this is another reason why democracies only average 200 years before they get burned down. eventually a bad bunch get into power and take the calm that their ancestors worked hard to create and maintain, and expect it to be the norm all over the world and make decisions with that bad information, and scream at anyone who criticizes them over it. And when everything burns down, they are still screaming "its not my fault" every step of the way to the executioners block until the deed is done.
