I don’t know shit about boots, leather boots, cleaning or maintaining leather boots. I wear crocs (pic8.co) for all occasions.

I have a pair of these Justin work boots that seem to fetch more on ebay if they’re cleaned up.

My estimates are I’ll fetch $30 as they sit (dry, slightly dirty) vs $40 - $50 cleaned up.

I’ve read that dawn and warm water with a soft scrub and thorough drying is sufficient for cleaning, and then add something to condition them.

Well, if I spend $10-15 on any product to do this, the efforts are futile because the return will net the same as leaving them alone.

I happen to have a vintage can of Kiwi Neutral and the contents look good.

Can I use the kiwi neutral on these boots after they’re clean and dried?

If not, why? And if not, is there anything possibly lying around the house I can use after cleaning and drying them?

That's what I was meaning by rough, you got it. So they aren't suede? I would try a spot on the back of the heal, a really small spot, and see if it takes it and doesn't look like crap.
