These hens never made it to the age of laying eggs. But I do have ones that lay eggs too!

What food supplements do you feed them?

Not exactly sure, would need to ask the wife. Lately I've been throwing young sprouting burdock into their runs which they love. We'll start letting them freerange in about a month.

I have heard a giant compost pile will fill itself with grubs and they will scratch feed themselves if allowed.

ahhh, it's more common in hens that are new to laying
