Sheep and chickens are the best animals to raise on a farm for your return.

Cows give milk and leather and fertilizer and meat for a large investment.

Goats give milk and leather and fertilizer and meat for a medium investment.

Sheep give milk and leather and fertilizer and meat and WOOL for a medium investment.

Chickens give eggs and feathers and fertilizer and meat for a small investment.

Sheep and chicken make more for your investment and are generally easy to care for. And I havent mentioned sheepfat for soap or lanolin from the wool or the land cultivation uses of Sheep. Sheep are by far the most versatile of animals to raise for homesteading.

They smelly tho.
