On the off chance that these are serious questions I will tell you my experience. I get my piglets in the early spring after there is no danger of a real hard freeze hitting. I fence off about a 4 acre spot in the woods for them (2 hot wires) I let them forage for themselves and give them only table scraps (the chickens are all over that mess too) The last couple months going into fall I start feeding them finishing feed to sweeten up the meat. Then in early November, give them an ear of corn and put a round in the top of their head. As far as meat birds go, you can get them at anytime from early spring to late summer. You only want to keep them around for about 2 months before you whack em. The most important part for them is to not be letting them run all over the place, they grow like mad and they are tough as hell if you let them run free, not worth a shit. Keep them in a small pen and feed the crap out of them. Also, do yourself a favor and buy a kill cone, you will thank me for that advice!!

Absolutely serious about the meat. Not serious about much else.

Fantastic. Great info about the toughness. I was wondering why we always kept meat birds penned up tight as a kid. Makes sense.

Early spring will be fun. Planning on naming the meat pigs after people I don’t enjoy.
