Great weather, and season is right. Some desert-variety vegetables: cucumber, zucchini, yellow watermelon, onion, and chimayo melon. Chimayo melon is similar to cantaloupe and grew a few last year. I planted the seeds from those melons. The onion and watermelon I planted last year but they didn't grow. The cucumber and zucchini I did not plant last year. I also transplanted two green onion shoots that had sprouted out of scraps in my compost pile.
First I raised the bubblers so more of the bed gets watered, and replaced with new mushroom head bubbler tips.
Old bubblers (pic8.co) (don't doxx my shadow)
Broken strainers (pic8.co)
Risers and new bubblers (pic8.co)
Next I raked debris off the bed and added a bag of cotton burr compost (pic8.co).
Tilled to about 3" to mix and level (pic8.co).
After planting and labeling (pic8.co).
Tested the bubbler coverage - satisfactory (pic8.co).
I planted 6 items in this bed this year, as opposed to 4 last year. I think it'll better use the available sunlight and newly-watered soil.
