Apparently no digging. Put down a bunch of mulch on flat ground, put down potatoes, top it off with hay and maybe a bit more mulch or something.

It apparently reduces the amount of physical labour according to youtube.

Mulch steals the nitrates potatoes need.

I would be interested what you think of the technique when you get a chance to check it out. I won't get a chance to do any farming for a year or two but would like to try it out.
