Yes I have. I have Barred Owls that live in the woods behind my house. One comes and sits on a tree right by my bedroom and hoots every night around 11pm.
They look so different from other birds for two reasons. 1) Their eyes are adapted for night vision and are huge in relation to their head and this gives them a very different appearance. 2) Their feathers are adapted for silence (for hunting in the dark) and this means that their feathers are more fluffy than many other birds and this makes the appearance of their body to be more squat and bulky.
It sounds like they're dressed up drones. Night vision, stealth capabilities and enough feathers to hide their true nature.
Of course. And it sit out side my window because I am on a watch list.
Now you're waking up.
